Known of and marked graves of men of the 69th. Pa. buried in the Old Cathedral Cemetery Philadelphia.

Includes men who had served in both the 71st Pa and the 69th Pa.

Note: This cemetery is situated at 48th and Lancaster Ave.
The information on the soldiers listed below is as accurate as possible from many sources such as cemetery records, obituary notices, newspapers, death certificates and I would be confident that it is generally accurate. Sadly in many cases records are sparse or lost or probably some burials never recorded. If you can add information or corrections feel free to Email me via the website Email icon. Tks.

Private Francis Gleeson Co. K. Wounded Gettysburg and later died Philadelphia. Probably buried in Section D a free grave (Potters Field) location.
Private Patrick O'Connor Co. Killed Gettysburg July 3rd 1863. Exact location unknown. Possibly Section T Potters Field.

Others who may be buried in this plot or whose graves in other parts of the cemetery have not been identified.

Sergt Patrick Healey Co. A. buried 28th April 1863. Location unknown.
It would appear that poor unfortunates with no means or friends or relatives with no assets to cover the cost of grave or funeral were simply gathered together in perhaps a shallow communal grave or cellar and then buried on specified dates in communal graves. How sad.
